Rescue Coin ($RSCU) is a governance token and impact coin minted and sold by Animal Rescue DAO as a fundraising mechanism for animal rescue organizations. Rescue Coin's value is backed by and directly associated with the assets underlying the community's Growth Fund.

RSCU is an Algorand ASA on the Algorand blockchain. ASA is Algorand's equivalent to Ethereum's ERC20 standard.

Rescue Coin is novel financial technology that allows animal lovers to donate to the animal rescue initiatives in their area, be a part of a larger community of animal activists, and retain some of the value from their donation by owning a portion of the community treasury.

There are 100,000,000 RSCU tokens in existence. Once 50% of RSCU tokens have been minted and distributed to the community, Animal Rescue DAO will begin removing tokens from the total supply through token buyback and burn programs. RSCU holders will vote to decide the percentage of tokens to remove from circulation.
